They opened Rostenberg and Stern Rare Books in New York City in 1945 and maintained their collaboration until Rostenberg's death in 2005. Rostenberg and Ms. Stern's partnership dated from the early 1930s, when both were college undergraduates in Manhattan. They met while teaching Sabbath school at Temple Emanu-El.
